Bang Po Beach Area and beyond.

Located in the north west, between Nathon and Maenam, at 4 kilometers long, with palm tree edged golden sands  and several beach restaurants, Bang Po is a serious beach and a great place to experience villa rentals in Koh Samui, and far enough west to enjoy some great sunsets. The warm waters are great for swimming and snorkeling and it is also a good location for sailing.

The sea  provides  fresh fish daily to a number of excellent restaurants. You can see the catches being brought in each day and the local chefs choose the best for the day’s cooking.  The eateries all cook fish in a variety of styles and if you fancy something different just ask!The bay itself looks out to Koh Phangnan, always worth a visit.  The sand is soft and white and the sea, churned by gentle winds, keeps the soft waves rolling to pleasantly audible effect. The area is largely residential with an increasing number of expats setting up home, so there is an emerging community feel.

The main road follows the coast all along this stretch so you are always well connected.  Head west towards the sunset coast- along the way you can visit The Four Seasons Resort, The Passage and Mai Samui - all along Laem Yai beach and all with entertainment and/or spa options.   In Nathon, which is the island capital, enjoy Samui shoppping at its best. Nathon has maintained a distinct ethnic feel, now sadly lost in Chaweng, and has many shops to haggle in, fresh food markets to wonder at and a nightly Thai cooked food market by the ferry piers. Watch out also for the Walking Street market experience on many weekends.

Further down the west coast you will find another fairly new and enjoyable resort, especially great for Sunday brunch, Nicki Beach. Carry on and find the Virgin Coast with the Five Islands restaurant, the Baan Taling Ngam  resort, Top Cats for freshwater fishing and a good sunday lunch- and so many other reasons to enjoy!  Maybe the Butterfly Farm or the Tiger Zoo are more to your liking!

Head east to Maenam with its many restaurants and bars or further afield to Fishermans Village- still only about ten minutes away. There are so many bars and restaurants here, but our favourites are The Shack- easily the best steak on Samui- and The Billabong Surf Club for pub grub and frequent musical evenings.  The Frog and Gecko is another long time bar worth a visit.

Heading down south can be found Chaweng- what can one say about Chaweng that has not been said before?  A very lively bohemian scene with many clubs, pubs, discos, girlie bars, Christies Ladyboy vaudeville - endless designer shops, not to mention the influx of venues like Starbucks, Mcdonalds et al.  All that is missing is Thai authenticity!

Carry on down to Lamai, and then start heading back west and north to complete the circle!
